Clay Oven Typical of the homemade ovens used in the early 1900's. It can bake 28 loaves of bread at one time. In the early times when the pioneers would be travelling, they would stop for periods of time to give themselves and their animals a rest. During these times, the ladies would set out ovens and the men would go out hunting to bring in some fresh meat.
